These newer Standard models are made in Japan and feature lightweight chambered bodies, updated pickups, and Yamaha’s unique push/pull "Focus Switch" circuit for added tonal flexibility.

It’s a sleek, well-balanced guitar with a comfortable neck carve, great fretwork, and a satin finish on the back of the neck that feels broken-in right out of the box. The dual humbuckers sound warm and articulate, and the Focus Switch (essentially a passive mid-cut preset) gives you an extra flavor without requiring active electronics.
