Up for sale is a 2021 D'Angelico Excel Mini DC in Black Dog finish with gold hardware, and the original hardshell case. This is my personal new favorite guitar in the shop. I LOVE the black dog finish (mostly referred to as "doghair" in the vintage guitar world), and the playability, fit and finish of this guitar are phenomenal. The smaller 14" body size is perfect ... about comparable to Gibson's ES-339 model. Smaller than a full size ES guitar, but still has that open and woody tone you get from semi-hollow guitars.
The Excel range is D'Angelico's professional "step up" line from the Premier and Deluxe series guitars. Higher quality hardware, better execution, and nicer appointments all around. This comes standard with Seymour Duncan 59 humbuckers, Grover tuners, and a deluxe hard case. This would be right at home on stage, in a professional studio or in a personal collection.
Tested 100% fully functional. Comes with original hardshell case. Excellent condition. No major marks or dings, frets are like new, and the truss rod is working as it should in both directions.
As always, this guitar has been treated to a brand new set of strings and a deluxe setup here in the shop. That includes a full fret polish, setting neck relief / truss rod, dialing in nut slot height and string action, setting the pickup height and more! So, you can rest assured that it is playing its absolute best!
