Description:
Clay Cook of the Zac Brown Band. ZBB fan or otherwise, this is a really cool guitar on its own—with Zemaitis’ signature engraved aluminum top in the pirate island motif, ornate appointments, and custom vibe—but the artist ownership, touring history, and some cool upgraded pickups make this one even more unique.
Zac Brown Band hails from our area (greater Atlanta), and Clay is an endorsed Zemaitis artist. We didn't get the guitar directly from the band, but the case still has the "Clay B Rig" tape label, and the Zac Brown Band asset tag is in the case pocket. The case itself has an Australia flight check label on it, so it was very likely a touring guitar. Cool collector piece for fans of Clay and Zac Brown Band, but we are mostly just selling this on the merits of it being a great guitar.
This model features a chambered mahogany body with the hand-engraved metal top, set mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard with pearl diamond inlays. A nod to one of Ron Wood's Zemaitis guitars from the brand's heyday.
JBJ" JB in the bridge. The "J" on the labels is for MJ, and these have started to be quite collectible. Probably made in the 80s when MJ was one of the main winders for the production line. The JNJ is particularly rare, and both pickups sound great.
Grovers ... a popular choice for working guitars becuase they are rock solid. But they did leave behind an extra hole from the old machines.
Comes with the original deluxe Zemaitis case, case candy, and Zac Brown Band asset tag.

very good, with visible signs of use from touring. There are some marks and small dings here and there, but nothing that affects playability or function. Frets are clean, neck is straight, and the electronics are working exactly as they should. A great-playing guitar with artist provenance and tasteful upgrades.
It has been fully set up here in the shop with fresh strings, polished frets, neck relief and action dialed in, nut and bridge adjustments made, and the pickup height set. It’s playing great and sounding exceptional with that upgraded pickup set.
