Here's an interesting one! This is a 2011 Fender American Standard Stratocaster with Rosewood Fingerboard in 3 Tone Sunburst. But, as you can see, its original owner has lovingly made it their own by doing a relic job, adding a DiMarzio Pro Track blade pickup, and installing gold Gotoh locking tuners. And, to be honest, we kinda love it!
This is obviously not a guitar for a collector or lover of originality, but it is a really cool player grade instrument that turns heads for sure. It looks like the relic job was done with a mix of torch and sandpaper, but it is very smooth to the touch.
Aside from the mods mentioned above, the pickguard is also aftermarket (originally white) and the bridge saddles have been swapped out for vintage-stlye bent saddles.
The guitar sounds great with the two original Fender single coils, and the PAF-inspiried Pro Track in the middle. It does a good job of the Jerry Garcia / Bob Weir type tones with the middle position humbucker. Frets show a little wear, but are polished up and playing great.
Tested 100% fully functional. No case, gig bag or accessories.
As always, this guitar has been treated to a brand new set of strings and a deluxe setup here in the shop. That includes a full fret polish, setting neck relief / truss rod, dialing in nut slot height and string action, setting the pickup height and more! So, you can rest assured that it is playing its absolute best!
