Description:

Up for sale is a preowned 1992 G&L ASAT Classic in "Clear Forest Green" -- a pretty rare color combo with the rosewood fingerboard. This ASAT Classic is a USA-built take on the traditional single-cut platform Telecaster designed by Leo Fender. The ASAT Classic is known for its solid construction, distinctive MFD pickups, and slightly more modern take on the familiar T-style feel and response.

FWIW, the 1992 production date is based on the G&L registry over at guitarsbyleo.com ... all G032 serial numbers in the registry had neck and body dates in 1992.

These early 90s 3-bolt neck plate models are well known to be top quality instruments. And now that G&L is sadly no longer producting guitars, this will likely appreciate in value with age. A great playing guitar, and a good investment ... win/win!!

Features include a solidbody single-cut design, bolt-on maple neck with a 25.5" scale length, rosewood fingerboard, dual G&L MFD single-coil pickups, 3-way selector, master volume and master tone controls, and a traditional-style bridge. The MFD pickups offer a broader frequency response and higher output compared to vintage-style Tele pickups.

This example presents cleanly overall with some light signs of use. The hardware shows some tarnishing consistent with age, and there is a small ding on the edge of the body near the input jack. Aside from these minor cosmetic details, the guitar remains well maintained and a solid player.

Setup is very comfortable, but our in-house tech notes that the truss rod is just about fully tightened. Relief is nice at about 0.015" (0.38mm) at the mid-point using a precision straight edge and feeler guages. String action is nice and low at 2.5/32" (2mm) on the bass side, and 2/32" (1.6mm) on the treble side. Playability is very good, with no dead spots.

Fretted instruments receive a full pro setup with fresh strings, polished frets, optimal truss rod relief, dialed in string action height and precise intonation (when applicable).
