Here is a neat piece of 90's guitar history. This is a 1990's Samick SSM-1 from their Valley Arts Custom Pro Shop line. Samick is a Korean manufacturer that most guitar players are familiar with even if they don't know the name. These days Samick manufactures lots of Korean made guitars for brands we know and love. But, in 1992 or so they bought out a the California based Valley Arts company that was known for making ultra high end versions of Fender style guitars. Oddly enough, Gibson eventually bought the company from Samick in the early 2000s. But, while it was owned by Samick they released this line of high end Strat-stlye guitars.
This is a really good guitar overall. Really nice scarf joint and belly cuts make it easy to play. Pickups are nice vintage low output singles ... very clear and classicly strat-like. Fret work is clean, and playability is very good.
Tested 100% fully functional. No case, box or accessories. Very good condition. A few small marks here and there, but clean overall. Frets are in good shape, and truss rod is working as it should.
As always, this guitar has been treated to a brand new set of strings and a deluxe setup here in the shop. That includes a full fret polish, setting neck relief / truss rod, dialing in nut slot height and string action, setting the pickup height and more! So, you can rest assured that it is playing its absolute best!
