Spaceman Redstone Germanium Preamp OD/Boost Pedal -- Standard Silver

The Redstone is a flexible germanium preamp designed to serve as a boost, line driver, tone shaper, or overdrive. An alternate reimagining of Spaceman’s Mercury platform, Redstone combines a wide-ranging three-band tone stack with a discrete op-amp built around a hand-selected vintage NOS germanium transistor.

The first gain stage and tone stack are designed to respond much like the input section of a tube amplifier. At the heart of the circuit is a high-headroom discrete gain cell capable of delivering up to 40dB of gain, adding harmonic detail, dimension, and muscle as it is pushed.

Low, Mid, and High controls provide a broad range of interactive EQ shaping. Redstone can deliver bright treble bite, pronounced midrange, deep low end, or a more natural and transparent response. At the beginning of a signal chain it can work as an adjustable tone shaper or overdrive, while placed later in the chain it becomes a powerful boost and line driver. Its extended low-frequency response also makes it well suited for bass and baritone instruments.

Running Redstone at 12V provides additional headroom, while 9V operation offers full compatibility with standard pedalboard power systems. The signal path remains completely analog throughout.

Each Redstone is hand-wired and built in Portland, Oregon. True-bypass relay switching is controlled by a soft-touch footswitch, while a cast-aluminum enclosure, engraved vinyl faceplate, and jewel indicator light complete the classic Spaceman construction.
