JHS Legends of Fuzz Bender Vintage-Style Fuzz Pedal

The JHS Bender is a tribute to one of the most important fuzz circuits to come out of the British guitar scene: the Sola Sound Tonebender. For the Legends of Fuzz series, JHS based the Bender on Josh Scott’s own prized 1973 MKIII Silver/Orange “Onomatopoeia” version, recreating the touch, feel, and response of the vintage germanium original with the consistency and reliability of carefully selected modern silicon transistors.

The result covers a wide range of sounds, from crunchy distortion to aggressive, saturated fuzz. Volume controls the overall output level, while Tone sweeps between brighter and darker voicings to help the Bender work with different guitars and amplifiers. Attack controls the amount of fuzz, moving from lower-gain breakup into thick, full-on saturation.

A side-mounted Mode switch engages JHS Mode, adding additional gain and a mid-frequency boost to help the pedal cut through a mix. At higher Attack settings, JHS Mode can also introduce a slightly gated response that changes with picking dynamics.

The Bender is built in the custom wedge-style enclosure used throughout the Legends of Fuzz series, giving it the look and feel of classic 1960s and 1970s fuzz pedals while adding modern reliability and standard pedalboard-friendly power.
