Electro-Harmonix Good Vibes Analog Modulator Pedal

Low in-store inventory, may be subject to change.

The Electro-Harmonix Good Vibes is an analog chorus/vibrato pedal built around the photocell-based modulation design that defined the original 1960s Uni-Vibe. Instead of approximating that sound with conventional chorus circuitry, the Good Vibes preserves the classic photocell approach, producing everything from slow, swirling chorus to deep pitch vibrato and faster rotary-style movement. Internally boosted power rails give the circuit additional headroom and definition while retaining the uneven pulse and movement associated with vintage vibe effects.

The control layout is straightforward. Speed sets the modulation rate, Intensity determines the depth of the sweep, and Volume controls the overall output with enough range to go slightly above unity gain. An always-active rate LED flashes in time with the modulation even when the effect itself is bypassed.

A dedicated Chorus/Vibrato switch changes the way the photocell modulation is heard. Chorus mode combines the modulated and dry signals for the familiar pulsing, phase-like Uni-Vibe sound, while Vibrato removes the dry component and delivers pure pitch modulation. This makes the Good Vibes useful for both traditional psychedelic vibe sounds and more pronounced detuned or warbling textures.

The expression input adds real-time control without requiring a larger treadle-style vibe pedal. A side-mounted Speed/Intensity selector determines which parameter is controlled by a connected expression pedal. In Speed mode, the pedal sweeps the modulation rate; in Intensity mode, it changes modulation depth. The corresponding front-panel knob sets the maximum range available at the toe-down position. The expression input also accepts a 0–5V control-voltage source.
