“He somehow delivers intact the spirit and sound of Blues legends from 80 years ago…A new Blues star is here, he proves it.” – Bob Margolin
Little G Weevil started out as a drummer and began playing the guitar at 17. He was introduced and captivated by the music scene through listening to legendary musicians such as John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, Albert Collins, B.B. King and Chuck Berry.
Ever since he started his career he has focused solely on the music of the American South and this can be clearly heard in his compositions. Although he has never had formal guitar or vocal lessons he now performs worldwide.
He established his own band in 1998. After years of touring mostly European countries he released his first single (Chump Change) in 2001 and his first album (One) with his European band Pure Blues in 2004 under the EU based label D&B.
In the same year he moved to Memphis, TN where he received a long-term contract on the legendary Beale Street. He has performed on numerous occasions in Beale Street's famous Blues clubs and has made his debut tours in the USA on his own and as a side man of Soul Blues singer Louisiana Mojo Queen.
His first solo recordings were also produced in Memphis in 2005.
In 2007, Little G signed up with the Atlanta, GA based King Mojo Records. A year later he left the label for Apic Records and released his very first solo album, the critically acclaimed "Southern Experience".
His second solo album "The Teaser" (2012) quickly climbed Blues music charts in the USA and Europe. The elite UK based Mojo Magazine ranked “The Teaser” Top 10 Best Blues Album of 2012.
In January 2013 Weevil entered and won the Blues Foundation`s International Blues Challenge in the solo/duo category. He`s also awarded as Best Guitarist in category. A few months later he signed up with Vizztone Label Group for his first full acoustic album “Moving”. The album was #3 on Roots Music Worldwide Internet Radio Airplay Chart in August 2013 and kept place in the Top 10 for over two months in a row. Mojo Magazine named “Moving” #3 Best Blues Album of the Year.
