Jenny Wehunt is a 2015 summa cum laude graduate of Reinhardt University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She has been playing the flute for 11 years.
Growing up in Pickens Co., GA, Jenny was always interested in music from the moment her mom introduced her to many instruments including the piano and fiddle. The moment she was introduced to the flute, however, she was instantly connected to the instrument and knew she wanted to learn everything she could about it. Throughout middle and high school, Jenny participated in clinics including District 9 Honor Bands, MidFest and JanFest at the University of Georgia, and marching band upon entering high school.
Jenny has participated in numerous ensembles at Reinhardt University. During college, she played in the Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Orchestra (both flute and viola). In January 2015, the Reinhardt Wind Ensemble was invited to play at GMEA (Georgia Music Educators Association) Conference in Savannah, GA. Since graduating, she is now a member of the Georgia Wind Symphony and the flute player in the newly formed woodwind quartet, Gone With the Winds.
Some professional memberships that Jenny is a member of includes Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, Alpha Chi National College Honor Society, Who’s Who Among Students, and CNAFME (Collegiate National Association for Music Educators).
Jenny is enthusiastic about teaching others about music and the flute. She is patient, skilled, and dedicated, and believes that any and all students can learn if respected and given the opportunity. She is excited to help her future students love music and the flute as much as she does!
