Somewhere between the skyscrapers and the train tracks near Atlanta, GA lives a man who writes music that is not quite Pop, not quite Rock, and not quite Folk either. I guess you could say it's a mixture of all of those. Whatever label you'd like to throw on it, is just fine. His name is Billy Andrew, and this is the beginning of a beautiful musical journey between you, him and his guitar.
From 2002 to 2006 he performed under a different name and for a couple of those years was part of an epic Pop/Rock band. They got signed, played many popular Atlanta venues and have an album on iTunes. But, that's the past and he'd prefer to leave it there. Plus, isn't a little bit of mystery exciting? The point is, he's a seasoned singer/songwriter, but is starting over from scratch. Sometimes you just need a clean slate.
In 2013, Billy decided to start writing again and recorded a couple tracks in his home. He took those tracks along with a couple live recordings from a March 2013 performance at the Red Clay Theatre in Duluth, GA, and created an EP. You can hear this EP and other songs at Billy's main blog: billyandrew.tumblr.com
Billy's musical influences are The Beatles, Neil Young, Sigur Ros, The Avett Brothers and early Mariah Carey.
